Showcasing the AECO Ecosystem for Educational Transformation

What if the challenges facing education in Cameroon and across Africa could be addressed not through isolated initiatives, but through a connected ecosystem of solutions?
That was the focus of a special conference led by Mr. Ewang Atabe, CEO of AECO LIMITED, on Saturday 20th of June at PROMOTE 2026, where attendees were taken on a journey through the “AECO-system”.
The session provided a comprehensive overview of how the different entities and initiatives within the AECO family are working together to tackle some of the most pressing challenges in education, employability, innovation, and economic development:
🔹 AECO LIMITED – Driving Transnational Education (TNE), education investment, venture building, and strategic B2B partnerships that bring global opportunities and expertise closer to African institutions and learners.
🔹 AECO Career Hub – Addressing the growing skills gap through professional development programmes, CPD-accredited courses, workforce readiness training, and employment placement initiatives that help learners transition successfully into the world of work.
🔹 AECO Education Pathways – Opening doors to international education while simultaneously strengthening local access through Study Abroad services, Distance and Blended Learning (DBL) programmes, Pathway Centres, language preparation, summer camps, and international exchange opportunities.
🔹 UniAssist Africa – Ensuring students and families have access to accurate, transparent, and relevant information about educational institutions and opportunities, helping them make informed decisions about their academic futures.
🔹 EduMetrics Africa (currently in development) – A pioneering initiative designed to establish accountability, transparency, and data-driven improvement within the education sector through the ranking and benchmarking of secondary and higher education institutions, initially in Cameroon and ultimately across Africa.
More than a presentation, the conference became an open discussion on the realities facing the education sector today:
📚 Limited access to quality education
💼 Skills mismatches between graduates and employers
🌍 Unequal access to international opportunities
📊 Lack of reliable educational performance metrics
🤝 Insufficient collaboration between stakeholders
💡 The need for stronger innovation ecosystems
For every challenge identified, the conversation focused on solutions.
Solutions built through strategic partnerships. Solutions driven by innovation. Solutions that connect education to employability. Solutions that empower institutions, educators, students, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to work together toward a common vision.
